Jon E. Noring, Ph.D. (Math Seminar)

Jon Noring portraitJon Noring holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a supporting in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota. For two decades Dr. Noring worked as a Staff Scientist/Engineer for three DOE National Labs in the areas of alternate energy research and national security. He has a very strong background in mathematics, numerical analysis and computer modeling. He currently tutors high school and college mathematics, and is certified as a Princeton Review SAT preparation instructor (contact Princeton Review if you are interested in SAT preparation.)

Lea Valencia Noring, M.S. (General Writing and Research Paper Seminars)

Lea Valencia Noring holds a Bachelor of Science in Education degree (B.S. Ed.) in Secondary English Education from the University of Georgia. She also holds a Master of Science degree (M.S.) in sociology from Valdosta State University. She specializes in teaching all types of writing. In addition, Ms. Valencia Noring is a Georgia certified teacher in the field of English (Grades 7–12), and currently teaches high school English at Furtah Preparatory School, where she is also the Dean of High School. Ms. Valencia Noring is the co-inventor (along with her mother, Dr. Willa Valencia, former Head of the English Department at Valdosta State University) of the Valencia Method™, an innovative, virtually fool-proof system for teaching anyone to write a great essay.
